What to expect

This is not a fast-paced hike or a fitness challenge. Here's what a typical walk looks like:

  • A steady, manageable walk with some inclines but plenty of pauses
  • Wildlife spotting and interpretation; seals, seabirds, and more
  • Stories and insight from a marine wildlife expert
  • Time to take in the landscape at a relaxed pace
  • A small, welcoming group atmosphere
  • A warm drink and snack along the way

Routes may vary slightly depending on weather and tides, this is part of the coastal experience. You'll always be kept informed.

Sea swimming

The optional sea dip

For those who feel comfortable, there will be an opportunity for a short sea dip at a carefully selected location along the route. This may be the sea or a tidal sea pool depending on the location, tide and weather.

  • Fully optional, absolutely no pressure
  • Safety guidance and support provided throughout
  • Wetsuit hire available if you don't have one
  • Cold water briefing given beforehand
  • Hot drink to warm up afterwards

Many women find this becomes the highlight of the experience, but if it's not for you right now, that's completely fine too. Just dip your toes or get all the way in!
